Etching on Paper; Framed in an antique wood frame with a black and gold finish and floral decorative details using 8-ply archival matting and conservation clear glass. 7"x10", 21"x25" framed.

Johannes Fischer

Johannes Fischer (1888-1955) was an Austrian painter, printmaker, and photographer.  He is best known for a series of photographic portraits he took of friend and collaborator Egon Schiele.  The two artists, together with Albert Paris Gütersloh, founded the Neue Secession Wien (New Vienna Secession), an art association that exhibited in 1918 following the death of Vienna’s leading artist Gustav Klimt. Johannes Fischer is featured in the collection of Queensland Art Gallery, Gallery of Modern Art in Brisbane, Australia.
