About The Subject:
Georgia Totto O'Keeffe (1887-1986) was an American artist that requires little introduction. O'Keeffe first came to the attention of the New York art community in 1916. She is best known for her paintings of enlarged flowers, New York skyscrapers, and New Mexico landscapes. O'Keeffe has been recognized as the "Mother of American Modernism”. This image is based on a well- known photo of her taken in her youth by her husband, Alfred Stielitz.
